Now Playing Tracks

Interview/ Vacation kitty.
Got to my friends’ place and within minutes this buddy attached himself.

Also, I was kindly reminded last night that RWRunStreak Memorial Day to Independence Day 2013 starts Monday. Who is in for running a mile or more a day? My goal — less treadmill and more outdoor runs for this streak.

So, who is going to streak with me?

It took me 40 minutes from when I wanted to leave to go to the gym and when I actually left. But since I was delayed due to setting up more job interviews, I guess it’s acceptable.
Until I came home to this lazy bum who hasn’t moved since I left.

2 miles on the treadmill and 10 minutes rowing. Great workout to get back into a routine.

In the background—-my latest knitting project all for myself with yarn from Indiana.

Indy Mini Marathon Race-ish Recap

A little unconventional, but that’s kind of how this whole trip has been.

I could talk about the lack of sleep, the physical pain, how unprepared I was from lack of training, the unevenness of the speedway, or the awesome 10 minutes I spent with medics as they flushed out some wounds.

But instead, I’ll share with you the good great things.

The Internet are awesome.

They are great.

When you push them, they push you.

They are funny.

They say things that even a sober person can laugh hysterical at.

They get hit on and given rings by little girls.

They chest bump, and chest bump, and chest bump and finally get it right.

They play beer pong pretty well.

They are great at just conversing on the small things.

They are an awesome bunch of people.

So thank you, Internet, for making this weekend in Indy a great one!  Wish I could have been a bit more involved, but this road trip has just taken its toll on me.

Today’s smoothie recipe:

- Body Fortress Super Advanced Whey Protein (Chocolate and Peanut Butter) — 1 scoop

- 2 tbsp. light whipped cream (Publix for those of ya’ll that have it)

- 1.5 cups fat free milk

- 1 serving On the Go Hazelnut Packet (caffeine fix!)

- couple ice cubes (optional)

^~^ aka these ingredients taste like a chocolate ice cream cone!

Accomplished today:

- 3 miles running (2 at gym, 1 with dog)

- 1 mile walking (continuation of the 1 mile running with dog who got lazy halfway through obviously)

- carbohydrate intake under 150 grams

- 2 Skype conversations regarding my impending tutoring responsibilities

Left to do this week:

- more running miles

- finishing Chapter 3 of thesis rewrite to submit

- finishing knitting baby blanket 1 to start baby blanket 2 (got friends who are reproducing like bunnies it seems)

- clean room.  It’s bad folks.  So bad that I can’t find the blanket knitting pattern I wanted to start for myself (because I haven’t knitted anything for myself for a long time).
