Walk dog. MIDMORNING

Gym. AFTER WALKING DOG or LATE THIS AFTERNOON

Errands. AFTER GYM

Work. ALL MORNING

Skype. AFTERNOON

Wash car. EVENING

^~^ Summary of my day.  See, it’s not a to do list if I have it listed when I’m doing it….right?  Just go with me here. :)

Also, I was able to fully shove everything for 9 days into the same carry-on suitcase that barely fit everything for my 3 day trip to NYC.  I don’t know why, but for some reason I only took a suitcase and a purse for NYC instead of bringing a backpack and a suitcase.  Oh well, live and learn, right?  I’m kind of intrigued that my simple style Jansport backpack (that I bought for $15) is still being sold in stores — for $25!  Either way, I can tell you that the quality of this sucker is pretty amazing (I’ve had it since the 6th grade — 1998), as is my Jansport messenger bag which I’ve had for 7 years.

Commence massive to do list of things to get done 24 hours before leaving for vacation.  Happy Monday all!

Week 11 — 4 Things Wednesday

IT’S HOT OUTSIDE!

When I was washing my car at noon I was dripping in sweat.  Went for my run, came back and it was still hot.  Decided to wax the car after dinner, and I’m STILL dripping in sweat from it.  Ugh.  All I keep thinking is those lovely 60 degree temps welcoming me in less than forty eight hours. :)

4 Things:

1. Cleaned car.  It’s only been on my to do list for a few weeks now…Vacuumed, washed, waxed, RainX put on (although I doubt I’ll encounter rain in the next few weeks), and Febreeze because it stunk like wet dog as I think the last major stinkage in there WAS the wet dog.

2. Ran 1.5 miles.  I wanted to push for 2 but the heat got the best of me. As I finished off my run I realized it was my last run to be logged on these roads before NYC.  Amazing how over a year ago I stepped out onto the road for the first time and tried running.  Then I just called it walking and being an obese person trying to run.  Now I call it running.  A slightly less obese person running.

3. Got my hair cut.  It needed it badly and if I didn’t get it today I’d have to wait a few weeks to get it done because I only trust my hair dresser.

4. Plucking away at my to do list so I’m combining this last one — hotel reservation for ATL tomorrow done, printed up all things for reservation (NYC, airline, hotel, etc.), laundry (still have to pack that stuff), workout gear semi-charged (gonna have to charge it in NYC again), finished up group paper.

Unfortunately I still have stuff on my to do list that will be crammed within the next 2 hours.  Print up tax stuff (completely JUST remembered this when I said I had printed other things up…), finish packing like OMG because I haven’t yet (no biggie, small things here and there), pack car, check off everything from my to do list, tidy up bathroom & room, upload music for travels.

Well folks, I’m outtie for the night.  Expect an early A.M. post from me before I hit the road.  If I have any followers in ATL who want to meet up tomorrow, shoot me an ASK (not a fan mail because I don’t get email notification on that) and I’ll see what can be done. :)

Week 11 — 4 Things Tuesday

tryingtogetsmaller replied to your post: Week 11! 4 Things Monday

Try not to beat yourself up about the pacing. It’s all a learning experience when covering new distances.

Thanks!  I’m trying not to.  The problem is that I’ve seen these distances before, even though they weren’t recently.  My problem stems from the fact that I just sometimes don’t push myself to go faster because I’m afraid a.) I’ll injure myself, b.) I’ll wear myself out too quickly, c.) Still self conscious about running out in public (this one is hard to admit but totally true), d.) I get bored running the same routes and being by myself, e.) I don’t have anyone to push me to go faster.

I think really, it’s a toss between me being afraid I’ll injure myself and me not pushing myself to go faster.  It’s not something that is going to change overnight, but I’m certainly going to be working on it after my half when I have access to a treadmill again.  I think that might be key to forcing me to push myself by having a mechanical machine push me to go faster, haha.

4 Things Tuesday edition:

1. TAPER WEEK — 2 miles on the bike!

2. Laundry DONE.  Well, round 1, round 2 will be tomorrow post-2 mile run and washing of the car.

3. Bag for post-NYC packed.  Well, bags.  One with clothes, other with workout clothes.  Still, funny how easy it is to pack both bags.  NYC is *almost* packed. Problem is all my electronics go in there….so yeah, haha.

4. Thesis-related research is PACKED.  Whoo!  Got entirely way too much material I’m bringing (note to self: remember to organize stuff when home next so that less things need to be toted everywhere).

Monday’s glorious to do list

Ugh, ugh, and ugh.

There is so much to do between now and bright and early Thursday morning when I make the trek up to Atlanta for the night before getting on a jet plane to NYC Friday.

Whelp, I guess I better get this to do list out of the way today:

- stretch like whoa <—that’s on the to do list everyday this week!

- laundry round 1 (packing up stuff for post-NYC trip…shorts and pants all in one bag! Round 2 will be running gear on Wednesday)

- finish my final 3 job applications before my trip (one full week of taking off from job searching and applying—whoo?)

- 3 pages of thesis chapter

- group project edits and finalization (guess who got nominated to do formatting of the final project?)

So happy Monday, everyone!  Also, happy glorious spring break!  Technically it’s my 2nd week of spring break, for my 2nd M.A.’s school, but last week I didn’t really realize it was spring break until late in the week and spring break doesn’t really impact me for my other degree anymore…

P.S. Day 2 of daylight savings…not a huge fan of what this is doing to my internal clock.  And then I realize that in another week or so I still won’t be a huge fan because I’ll be switching time zones and losing an hour (technically gaining back the hour I lost from yesterday!).

Wednesday’s game plan

A.M. plans:

- wake up early & run

- wash car, vacuum, RainX windshields, prep for road trip

- laundry (including Vibrams to get de-stinky before roading)

- quick shower then off to the Y to swim (this one is tentative as weather looks bad again tomorrow morning)

- continue making phone calls & returning emails for research purposes

- finish off to do list pre-laundry (as in everything packed but clothing and computer and currently used electronics)

Late P.M. plans:

- pick up maps for trip

- go to store and get carrots, grapes, bread, and bananas for trip (all other food has been acquired)

- pack car and start making sure things are charging (phone, batteries, ipod, etc.)

Post-dinner plans:

- finish packing car

- shower

- have all to do lists for trip finished

Midday plans:

- TUMBLR STALKING!!!

- Netflix for 24 <—not like I’m an addict or something

- organize things digitally (music, documents, etc.)

Ya’ll I’m in the countdown between now and Roadtrip 2011.  2+ weeks of me, myself, my car, my Vibrams, marathon training, the road, hotels, icky fast food, and research for my thesis.  First stop for a family event, then onward and beyond (Buzz Lightyear quote?) to research, research, research.  And of course some adventure along the way.  Got to find some cool trails to run, museums, or little neat small town things to do along the way to keep me occupied.  Oh, and a FleetFeet to stop at for another pair of my Vibrams as I need a second one for marathon training.

I miss reading all of ya’lls posts.  But I bet you’re all kicking butt and taking names!  I can’t wait to see how great everyone is doing!  And I’ll be trying my very best to keep up, at least in the evening hours.  :)

Things that did happen today:

- Netflix streaming of 24 (someone’s addicted!)

- taking apart of closet to pack for traveling

- list of things that need to be packed after being washed

- list of all the running gear that needs to be washed before packing

- packing of energy chews, bars, gel, protein bars, and all non-essential for short runs gear (Garmin charger, sunscreen, bug spray, nighttime light, pepper spray)

- watching of rain and weather for the next 48 hours (revision of workout schedule AGAIN! ugh)

- more lists were made

Things that did not happen today:

- run

- swim

- laundry

- finding my resistance bands

Tomorrow’s schedule:

- get everything off my 3 to do lists DONE (about 15 items not including the to do list of places to call)

- run in between the pouring rain and severe weather we’re going to have (any miles will be miles)

- wash my Vibrams they are stinky and stained and need a good cleaning before taken on the road

- day 2 of not flooding your dashes with tons of tons

Hi new followers!  You’re catching me at another transitional period in time as I pack for an unknown length of time journey to work on research for one of my Master’s degree’s thesis (you might be wondering did I just say “one of my Master’s degree’s thesis” and you read correctly—although I don’t have to write a 2nd thesis, I am currently pursuing 2 different Master’s degrees).  Well, that and a family wedding.  Oh, and the beginning of marathon training.  Welcome to my ramblings! Here’s a good place to start with a bunch of different links (scroll down) to depict me.  I know I need to update it, eventually, but it’s still a good starting point. :D

Hope all’s well in the tumblr world!  I miss being able to catch up on what everyone is doing and keeping ya’ll appraised to my fitness life.  But since I have no fitness life at the moment because of excuses and bad weather, this will have to suffice.
