Even at twenty five you got to start some time”
— Jimmy Eat World “A Praise Chorus”
Time Schedule:
Only change was walking the dog post-dinner instead of thesis writing/editing.
Food:
Only change was I switched couscous for a 2nd serving of corn and I’m glad I did because it was a healthier choice and my body has been reacting weird to processed stuff recently, even in the smallest consumption.
Workout:
RWRunStreak Day 34 (Day 6) — 1.10 miles @ 14:30 minutes
Stationary bike, level 5 fat burner course — 7.15 miles @ 30 minutes
Reaction:
I woke up this morning with a low-grade fever, so I didn’t do a full blown workout. Instead I viewed this as a recovery day and didn’t push myself at the gym. I’m happy with that because I know there are days when I’ll be awesome and days when I’ll be not-so-awesome. Today was the 2nd.
As today is the last official day of June, I look back at my Daily Mile account and see all but 1 day filled with 1 mile or more of running. And it pains me that there is that one day even though it was out of my control. Still, to swim, bike, run, stair climb, row, and elliptical 211 miles in the month of June is AMAZING for me (averaging 45-50 per week). I mean who the heck am I to be pulling numbers like that while not even training for anything?
To say that the first month of Summer of Awesomeness has been less than awesome, is, well, a lie. Because it’s been downright awesome. Yes, I might be unemployed, yes I might have the same amount of rejection letters this month as I had miles for this week alone (47?!), yes I might have weathered a difficult flooding storm, and yes the scale has not been so kind. But I’m alive, healthy as possible at the weight I am, and I’m striving towards a goal of making myself a better person, which is pretty awesome within itself.
So all, who wants to join in for month 2 of Summer of Awesomeness?
