Now Playing Tracks

I forgot to post my recap to the miles I did in August and to see if I even came close to what I had wanted to do. So this post should have been put with my August recap post.

Well, running came in at the right number and swimming came in below, which is disappointing.  But I know that 2 weeks were negated because of rain problems which resulted in 6 missed miles, meaning that 3 more miles were unaccounted for out of the proposed 16 miles for the month.  I didn’t put a number amount for September since I’m marathon training and traveling.  But if I stick with my schedule it looks to be about 89-93 miles of running not including any sort of swimming mileage.  Ummm…did I just say 89-93 miles?  That’s like a 62% increase in mileage.  I guess since I’ll be adding a few thousand miles to my car I might add a couple of miles to my running schedule—right?

August goals, September goals

It’s already September?  Wow!  This month certainly has flown by!

August Goals:

1. Finish as much as I can of 24 for 24 Challenge <—I didn’t put enough time or effort into 24 for 24 for me to really accomplish much of anything.  But I now have a full year to accomplish 25 for 25, which I’ll be posting sometime in September

2. Swim 3 miles a week <—if the weather allowed it, it happened. Calling this a win

3. Lose 6 pounds to get to 219 and say goodbye to the 220s <—didn’t happen at all, but lost nearly 3 pounds for the month and am oh so close to saying goodbye to the 220s for good…perhaps next month?

4. Continue with daily updates of myfitnesspal <—still logging those updates!

5. Continue weekly updates of dailymile <—success!

6. Try 2 new recipes for dinner <— Yup, tried Spinach Lasagna and a Beef Stir Fry recipe (to be posted at a later date)

September Goals:

1. Run while traveling.  Stick to my training schedule.  Just like 1/2 training, I only get one shot at this.

2. Smart food decisions! Traveling is going to be rough on my system, and if I can maintain my calories and my hydration I’ll be happy.

2a. No soda while driving whatsoever, unless it is absolutely needed for staying awake.

3. Tumblr frequently with random pictures while running in unknown places.  (I seriously want to document this adventure!)

4. Stay up to date with school stuff (This traveling is, after all, for thesis research and writing).

5. Be happy and enjoy spending time with family.

August 2011 Workout Schedule

For ya’lls viewing pleasure!

Total swimming miles: 15 miles

Total running miles: 45-50 miles

Races:

August 20th — Birthday 1/2 Marathon

August 27th — Lowry Park Zoo Run Run 5K

Total goal for the month: 80 miles

Acceptable number of miles for the month (excuses included): 60+ miles

Yeah, umm, guys…since when did 45-50 miles running become a monthly thing on the calendar?  I’m buckling down this month and hoping to accomplish most of these miles.  But if I only make the “acceptable number of miles for the month” I’ll be completely satisfied that I could accomplish at least 75% of the miles I originally planned.

I think the numbers are within reason as well, as I shift from 1/2 Marathon Training after my birthday to a swim-run routine.  Don’t worry, biking will be added eventually, once the weather gets nicer outside.  Then it’ll be swimbikerunswimbikerunswimbikerun.  Yeah, starting to sound a little like a triathlete….

Tampa Bay Folk — 5K August 27

Anyone interested in running the Lowry Park Zoo Fun Run 5K with me?

I just registered, today’s the last day for Early Bird Registration.

Here’s the website link:  https://your.lowryparkzoo.com/ZooRunRun2011

Let me know if ya’ll are gonna run!  It’d be great to run with fellow fitblrs. :)

(Oh, and the registration includes a day at the zoo!  So I’ll also be roaming the zoo as well).

July Goals Recap, August Goals

July Goals:

1. Log weekly miles & workouts on DailyMile <—when I did workouts they were logged

2. Keep up with 1/2 Marathon Training Schedule <—runs weren’t kept up with as much as cross training during 2.5 weeks of July, so half win

3. Do 30 Day Shred for 30 non-consecutive days (running days no 30 Day Shred) <—did not happen.  And I honestly don’t know if I can stomach to do it for 30 Days or not

4. Do not overindulge in this last month at school. <—YES!  I joined myfitnesspal and this helped a whole lot without overindulging.

5. Lose 8 pounds this month.  Really would love for this to happen because then I’d be < 1 pound away from 21X for my birthday month. <—did not happen, I lost a couple of pounds to finally get out of the 230s, but not enough to make a large dent in 21X for my birthday.  Still, a loss or maintain is still really good, so I’ll take it as a win.

August Goals:

1. Finish as much as I can of 24 for 24 Challenge

2. Swim 3 miles a week

3. Lose 6 pounds to get to 219 and say goodbye to the 220s

4. Continue with daily updates of myfitnesspal

5. Continue weekly updates of dailymile

6. Try 2 new recipes for dinner
