Recap:
I didn’t want to go to the gym today. It’s just downright miserably hot outside. I know it’s nowhere near the high 90s and low 100s that other people are getting, but Florida’s humid heat just makes for miserable days where you want to sit inside all day long and have ice packs constantly cooling you off. I had at one time thought about taking a run early this morning, until I started working on job applications late at night (why must the West coast post their job notices at 6 P.M. PST???). So I stayed up late and there was no way this body was rolling out at 5 A.M. for a dark run. Although it wouldn’t surprise me if Sunday I end up doing just that instead of going to the gym.
My grocery cart was FILLED with vegetables today. This week I’m opting to substitute my dinner carbs (risotto, couscous) with vegetable carbs. Usually I eat 5-6 nights a week with either risotto or couscous (one serving only!) as a carb and also have salad. But with green beans and corn being in season I am opting for that instead. Needless to say the sales going on really complemented my grocery cart. Only 1 thing I got wasn’t on sale — Publix yogurt, haha. Also switching back to oatmeal in the morning because I’m tired of eating sugary cereal.
Mini-rant:
I’m kind of tired of having phone interviews that end with “Well thank you for your time but we’re going to continue to look elsewhere for someone better suited for the job.” So then why in the world did I just spend 15-30 minutes interviewing when you knew that you weren’t interested? I’ve recorded my interviews and played them back for parents/friends to hear and they all say I sell myself pretty well, so it obviously isn’t that. I get it that I might not be qualified, but please stop wasting my time if you just want to be courteous to interview me only to reject me. It just makes it that much more frustrating. I’d appreciate a phone call or email rejecting me instead.
