Responses and today's lack of to do list...
@shoeswornoutnew - Yeah I’m still looking, so I’ll have to get back to you on the perfect bra @sparrowrunner - Welcome!  I grabbed another decent pair of running capris and a SIZE FOURTEEN pair of shorts (big NSV as I’ve been in a size 16 since February/March). Hopefully you got some good deals! @happilyconfused - Thanks for the suggestion!  Unfortunately I no longer live in...

Done so far today: - 2 mile run (far from the best as cramps really took hold at 1.5 miles) - awesomely delicious breakfast - 1.25 mile walk of the dog To do the rest of the day: - shower - go to Kohls to find running pants and hopefully a better running bra (50% off sale ends today!) - work on final paper - lunch - finish final paper - work some on thesis - make awesomely delicious dinner of...

Responses and to do list accomplishments
@lostweightgainedlove - 2 M.A. degrees at 2 different universities…yup, definitely crazy!  But after May 2012 I can officially say I’ll be down to one degree. :)  (And you missed between Jan-July of this year when I was working 40 hour work weeks, taking 4 classes, AND training for a 10K then half marathon.  Think there is a word beyond crazy?) @erindoeslife - It’s a good...

Tuesday's to do list
Whelp, Monday went alright.  Managed the most important item that was due at midnight.  But the other 2 homework assignments not so much. (Procrastinators unite!  Btw, how’s everyone else’s to do lists coming along?) Here’s what is on tap for today: - 1 mile run in cool weather (hooray no rain! Just temps in the 60s!) - 2 miles biking (hooray no wind like yesterday!) - work...

I’ll take running in pouring rain and cold wind over walking a dog in those same conditions any day.  Really. Cranked out 2 miles in 29 minutes this morning with heavy rain and 10-15 mph gusts of wind.  And ever since have been doing things completely unrelated to the actual schoolwork that needs to get done. You know, things like convincing the dog that the rain and slightly colder...

So my sorry butt just rolled out of bed—10:45 EST—and was informed that the rain was coming sooner than thought. Looks like I’ll be running 2 miles without music in the rain. Fine by me, as long as it isn’t heavy or lightening. Although the current winds might be a killer. I really need an alarm clock that will physically throw me out of bed in the morning instead of me...

Monday's to do list
And thus the to do list begins: - C25K run (before noon, as impending rain in the afternoon will impede me from this) - wash dirty laundry - put away clean clothes - do homework due by midnight - work on thesis - organize documents for final paper due December 2 - create Tuesday’s to do list

Procrastination is my middle name
Or it really should be. Two papers due this week—one tomorrow and one on the 2nd. Oh wait, and half of my chapter 2 of my thesis.  Well, technically I’m down to maybe a fourth since I managed 6 pages sometime last week. I’ve managed to sit in front of my computer and look up oogles of things totally not related to school this weekend.  Applied to four more jobs, found out that...

If you had asked me a month ago if I would ever consider seeing 11:XX for a one mile run before the end of 2011, I would have told you maybe in December.  Maybe. Today it happened.  And guess what, it’s still November. Day 4 of participating in RW Run Streak has really shown me that the future can be just as amazing as what I’ve experienced in the past month of truly running for time...

RW Run Streak Day 4
1.02 miles @ 12:03 minutes Um, did I just run a mile under 12 minutes? Wowzers. Oh, something I forgot to mention, I’ve decided to not weigh myself until the first night of Hanukkah. It’s a bold move but my scale’s batteries officially died and I have little enthusiasm to replace them. So instead of the already expected water weight from Thursday’s 5K and next...

You should get up and run before dinner. Ugh, but it’s so comfortable in front of the computer watching Greek. No, you need to do this, you promised yourself you’d commit to something and you’re sticking with it. But can’t I do it after another episode of Greek on Netflix? No, you can’t.  That’ll be 45 minutes, then you’ll take 10 minutes getting ready...

@twotwentyeight — I was going to send this to you in a private message but I noticed how long the link was so I’m going to post it for you and anyone else who is interested. Day 2 of RW Run Streak happened (Day 1 was Turkey Trot 5K).  Not the fastest mile pace, my calf was entirely way too tight, so I’ll need to do some foam rolling later tonight. 1 mile @ 14:10 Nothing much else happening.  Super excited for all the amazing fruits and vegetables I got on sale this week at Publix.  Anddddd I’m going to be adventurous and try out a new recipe or two that...

I could whine about how miserable my morning started by waking up late and finding out there is NO milk in the fridge for my multi-grain cheerios. Instead, my beautiful scale showed a loss this morning of more than a pound (which is most likely a fluke because I woke up late and should be retaining water from my 5K) AND this girl now officially knows she’s getting Runner’s World...

A mile a day?
So Runner’s World published about some runners making a challenge to run 1 mile a day between Thanksgiving and January 1. http://trainingdaily.runnersworld.com/2011/11/17/announcing-the-inaugural-rw-holiday-running-streak/?cm_mmc=Facebook-_-RunnersWorld-_-Content-Blog-_-TrainingRunStreak I think it’s doable.  I already get about 2.5 miles in of walking a day, so to tack on just a...

Virtual Turkey Trot 5K 2011
Unfortunately my town doesn’t do a race for Thanksgiving and the closest race is just over an hour away so it isn’t feasible to drive, run, drive back, and get a turkey in the oven for a noon meal. So instead I participated in Daily Mile’s virtual Turkey Trot 5K. 3.1 miles @ 44:03 minutes PR baby! Finished my run just before 8, showered, cleaned and stuffed the bird, put it...

What are you thankful for?
So today is Thanksgiving for us American folks. It’s a day that is statistically known as the start of a downward spiral for holiday eating and gaining weight.  It’s the hardest time of year for those dieting and trying to lose weight to be successful with all the family gatherings and delicious treats. But it’s also a time to be thankful for the people in our life, and the...

To do list recap--Tuesday
Success! Or for the most part.  Pesky thesis is still hanging over me a bit as I didn’t get nearly as much done at the library had I originally thought I could.  But hey, there’s always tomorrow, right? Dinner was switched up a bit and I caved on homemade pizza.  I needed it after a solid week of awesome eating.  And homemade pizza isn’t that bad since I use healthy ingredients...

Tuesday's to do list
Since yesterday’s to do list was so successful, I’m doing another one for today: - wake up early (I’m queing this post up so who knows the actual hour but the alarm is set for 6 A.M.) - run a mile - eat a delicious protein filled breakfast - pack up my thesis work and head to the public library - get lost trying to find a building with a friend (I haven’t been to...

Dear Body, Once upon a time you use to naturally wake up between 6 and 630 six days a week. While I know you do not miss the stress that 8 hour work days coupled with 5 hours of homework use to have on you, it would be awesome to get back into some sort of early morning routine. Remember all those mornings you use to bounce right out of bed, strap on running gear, and go to the apartment gym?...

Saturday adventures
Today was an adventure day! On the list was a few hours at my college library to work on my thesis for my other college degree.  Then it was off to spend the wonderful afternoon with Lindsay, whom I met at the Do Life Tour this past summer. So after finishing up some thesis research I was on the road to meet up with Lindsay and came across a really cool car on the drive. Might be kind of hard...

C25K Run Day
Woke up late, started the day late, ate late, drank water late. Etc. etc. etc. THESE ARE ALL EXCUSES. And while they all happened to me, I did not let that overpower the fact that I had a 2 mile run planned for today that had to get done. And it did. 2 miles @ 26:06. Meaning 13:03 pace. Hooray! The more I run in my Vibram KomodoSport LS the more I realize that I love them more than my...

What are you afraid of?
It’s a question that lingers in my mind almost every day when I wake up.  What am I afraid of? For the longest time I’ve been afraid of failure.  Not succeeding in what I want in life. Every morning I wake up and realize it’s another morning I should be grateful that I’m alive for.  People across the world die on a daily basis, young, old, perfect health, not so perfect...

Things I Miss
So I’m currently sitting and waiting for a webinar to begin at noon CST, and I realized that I miss a whole lot of different things now that I’m focusing solely on school.  And what better way to discuss that then in bullets? appointments and being places at specific times lectures, webinars, and class meetings working my workout schedule around work and class money in my bank...

The Flub up
I was going to title this the “Screw up” but realized to screw up would mean that I wouldn’t have even attempted to do what I did this evening. I haven’t really managed to wake up early enough for a morning run so I usually make up for it by running before dinner — I figure instead of eating extra food for protein post-run that I’ll just hit the extra protein...

Mom: Is that blood on your face?
Me: Where?
Mom: On your chin and nose.
Me: No, pomegrante juice.
Mom: What's that on the floor? More blood?
Me: Nope, more juice.
Oh the problems with eating pomegrante--but oh so delicious!
And don't worry, I cleaned up the mess.

The run that I needed
Today was not a run day.  Today was a strength training day. But my days have been thrown off this past week and I just felt like running today.  So I ran. 1 mile @ 12:12 pace What? Really?  I was dripping sweat like no tomorrow with the sun in my eyes wondering if I had made the right decision to go out in the middle of the afternoon in this Florida heat (yeah, we’re back to heat after a...
